Sambucol Kids Gummies vs Tonic : Which is Superior Vitamin for Your Child?

Sambucol vs. Tonic Review

In the realm of children's vitamins, parents are often faced with a myriad of choices. Cartoon characters everywhere and no real indication of quality. Given the sea of cartoons is usually a sign of low quality vitamins, we’ve opted for the two brands here that choose to stand on their own based on their natural credentials. Sambucol Kids Vitamin Gummies and Tonic Kids Multivitamin Gummies are two of our favourite and this review aims to compare these two products, highlighting their unique features and helping you determine the better choice for your child's nutritional needs.

Sambucol Kids Vitamin Gummies:

The Good:

  1. Key Ingredients: Sambucol is renowned for its black elderberry extract, rich in antioxidants. Elderberry is great for kids immune support and has tons of science backing it. However, it only includes Vitamin C as additional immune support.

  2. No Artificial Sweeteners: These gummies are free from artificial sweeteners and colors, relying on natural flavors but they do add sugar for a kid-friendly taste.

  3. Texture: Sambucol Gummies texture is soft and chewy, which is appealing to younger children.

The Bad:

  1. Sugar: The first three ingredients are a form of sugar (Glucose syrup, Sugar and Dextrose) whichs makes this a sugary sweet for kids with some added benefits.

  2. Dose: The dose of elderberry is good but having only vitamin C as the other ingredient and at only 60mg makes these gummies a little one dimensional.

Taste Test:

A lot of gummies for kids are just sugary sweets but you’d be amazed at how poor some of them can taste still. Sambucol is different, they’ve got a good natural flavour and your kids will like them. They are easy to consume and offer a light sweeteness that makes this an easy one for your kids to take regularly. Just a shame they use sugar as the base and low doses. We give it a 6/10.

Tonic Health Kids Multivitamin

The Good:

  1. Broad Spectrum of Vitamins: Tonic gummies provide a wide range of 14 essential vitamins, including A, C, D, E, and a B-vitamin complex, supporting good overall health and energy levels.

  2. No Sugar or Sweetener: Tonic emphasize natural ingredients and clean label ingredients, so you won’t find sugar or artificial sweetener in these gummies. the base is just made out of beetroot fibre which is a good prebiotic.

  3. Full Strength: Tonic Kids Gummies have good doses of vitamins to support your little’s one’s growth and development. Most kids gummies use that as an excuse to put low doses in and save money but Tonic buck the trend and provide optimal levels.

The Bad:

  1. A litte more expensive: At £16 per month this is the most expensive kids gummy on the market but you do get what you pay for in this case and good nutrition is an investment worth making.

Taste Test:

Now, this is someting we can all get behind. Strawberry laces eat your heart out. We have a new kid on the block and there is no added sugar to be found. We kept coming back for more and the strawberry taste is on the money. We score this a high 9/10.

THE CONCLUSION:

  • Nutritional Profile: While Sambucol focuses on immune support with its black elderberry, Tonic offers a far more comprehensive multivitamin approach of 14 nutrients in full strength doses.

  • Health: Sambucol may be more suitable if you are looking just for elderberry but the added sugar is a problem. Tonic, on the other hand, is ideal for daily, all-round nutritional support without the added sugar.

  • Taste Preference: This may vary among children, but Sambucol's sweeter, softer gummies might be more appealing to younger kids, whereas Tonic's firmer, less sweet gummies could be favored by older children.

Conclusion: Choosing between Sambucol Kids Vitamin Gummies and Tonic Kids Multivitamin Gummies depends on your child's specific health needs but for a more all-encompassing vitamin supplement without the sugar, Tonic is the clear winner and a great multivitamin for your little one’s growth and development.
